Frozen Lake Zurich in 1963

A surprisingly unusual and temporary extension of the city of Zurich that was immediately turned into a vast playground by kids, adults and animals.

The Neue Zürcher Zeitung has this video including amateur super8 footage from Franz Ritzmann.

On the occasion, Zurich Lake Police constructed its own snowmobile, the legend says, and Camels from Rapperswil Kinderzoo were taken on a walk towards the middle of the lake (Images: NZZ).
